Playing fast is a prerequisite for the new offense that Alex Golesh and coordinator Joel Gordon brought to the Plains . . . Alex Golesh made it a point that the Tigers will be heavy in the run game . . . Even though Marchese has never played a snap on a collegiate field, ESPN is projecting him to be one of the Tigers' top playmakers in 2026 . . . Just under two weeks remain before Auburn completes spring practice with the annual A-Day Spring game next Saturday . . . Pleasant is back for his second season on the Plains and is expected to run back kickoffs again, but the Tigers are looking for a new punt returner . . . Auburn is now eight practices into spring ball, meaning that evaluation and development period is well underway. Auburn's roster features over 60 new players and an overhauled coaching staff, making this an important spring . . . The Tigers returned just three offensive linemen and added 14 newcomers. Nine of those new additions came from the transfer portal and five more are incoming freshmen . . . The toughest of the transitions for young players is on the line of scrimmage and that's what Autry, Crawford and both Smiths faced a season ago. A year in the weight room has been beneficial for them, but also learning now important technique and fundamentals are to success . . . There are a whole slew of winnable games to get the Alex Golesh era off to a good start . . .
